What’s Goin’ On….

It’s getting hot out there…time to find some shelter!

A quick & dirty listing of some fashionable goings-on around town….

A friend of mine told me that Relish is having a pretty big sale starting today – up to 50% off on, I assume, summer stuff. Just called over there to confirm but there was no answer. Perhaps that means it’s the feeding frenzy she figured it would be?!

Want an excuse to show off a new summer outfit and eat at Cityzen, The Source By Wolfgang Puck, Hook, and PS7’s all at the same time? You might snag a ticket to Washingtonian’s Best Of Party on July 8. Tickets are normally $95, but if you enter the discount code FRIENDBESTOF you get $20 off. What you get: a donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society…and well, a food-and-drinkfest the size of The Building Museum. Literally.

The local business network Local First DC has declared July “Celebrate Your Independents Month” (catchy eh?) and are celebrating with July 3’s Fashion Fuse. The event will highlight local design, art and and music from 8-11. Tickets are $30; expect a fashion show and plenty of food. Click here for more info.

Remember when PB interviewed Daniel from We One You Two? And how I thought the name of the store was really weird and kind of um, not good? Well, apparently I wasn’t the only one. So let’s all help them come up with a name, shall we? That’s right, a contest. Oh yeah…and there’s an $800 prize package in it for the winner. It runs through June 30.

Diva in Old Town just got in two like-new Chanel bags (black quilted leather; chain handle). One retails for $2650 but will be $1998, or $1498.50 with their Saturday-only storewide 25% off discount. The other bag is bigger, with lambskin leather and will be $1573.50 with the discount. Pocket change, right?! Email me if you want pics.

The City Paper’s Crafty Bastards Festival
is a celebration of all things indie (I’ve picked up great gifts for grownup & real kids) is staging in Silver Spring tomorrow. So if you’re out there, take a look, and if you’re crafty and in the District, you can apply for a booth at DC’s Festival September 28 at the usual spot in Adams Morgan.
